Residents living at our sheltered housing scheme on Wilkinson Avenue in Broseley work tirelessly to support each other and make sure the surroundings of where they live are in tip-top condition.
We couldn’t let this community spirit go unrecognised, so we laid on a tea party to thank them for their continued hard work.
Yvonne Silk, Shropshire Towns and Rural Housing's Housing Support Officer, said:
“I have been covering this scheme for almost a year now and can honestly say it is a pleasure to come to work – their community spirt is inspirational, and it’s all year round.
“Last week two of the residents cleared all of the paths of snow and ice for everyone and few of them cut the hedges down recently as the tenant in the property was not able to do it himself. They also shop for one another.
“It’s truly amazing how they support each other and we were pleased to do something to recognise this.”
